I recently visited the Red Hot and remembered my driver's license had just expired. When I tried to show the older lady working the taps the only other ID I had on me (military ID), I was told they don't accept that as valid identification...really!? After my state of incredulity wore off, I was reluctantly served a drink. Will never return and will advise those in my small circle of friends the same.

The Parkway is my number one due to the fact there is always one or two high quality strong beers.
I'm starting to visit the redhot a little more. Not the largerst selection but good quality.

Hey don't forget the Top of Tacoma. Coldest dame PBR's in Town, actually anything from their taps is going to be freezing. Let your class sit for a few minutes and don't get a new one, unless you like ice in your beer.

I've got to agree with the Rosewood as a great draft location. Those beers are 99% of the time four solid selections, and the food is pretty awesome.

The Parkway is tops for me, followed by The Red Hot and The Swiss. The PW has that neighborhood vibe that just makes the whole experience all the better, not to mention the kick-ass staff. The Red Hot was a much-needed addition to T-town; the joint is solid, usually they have 3 IPA's on tap - who could ask for more?

The Red Hot and Park Way are always solid and should not be missed. However, don't over look the Rosewood Cafe (N. 26th just down from Union). A mere 4 beers on tap but they carry local, hard to find breweries and proudly fill their growlers to the top. Plus Rick's Dip is one of the best sandwiches in town!

Thanks for the kudos John. We're closed Sundays because Sunday is the Lord's Day, and we do lordly things on that day like watch football and scratch ourselves. I need a day off. 2009 might actually see us open 7 days a week.

I'll return the kudos and say the PW has the lineup. Cask handle and volume of handles to play with makes for a great run of beers at any given time. Consistent verticals and vintage brews add to my beer-lust.

I was at the Red Hot on Saturday and agree the beer selection is pretty amazing.

My favorite place if I want a nice place to hang out with friends is the ACME on Tacoma Ave. Can't go wrong with Vitamin R in the tall-boy can!
