Regular readers of this blog (yes, both of you) will recall occasional sightings of Russ from Doyle's and Jack and Bob from the Swiss engaged in furtive meetings. It was obvious they were plotting the expansion of their respective empires.
We have learned that, after scouting possible locations for their new project, their eyes finally settled on the E9. It is understood that a serious and substantial offer is on the table.
This makes perfect and poetic sense given that all the interested parties are E9 alumni. Bob's Sunday nights as bartender at the E9 are legendary among Tacoma's old school beerheads. Both Russ and Dave from Doyle's bartended at the E9 more recently, and hired Steve from there to manage Doyle's.
It is unknown in what direction the dream team plan to take their possible acquisition, "Euro" bistro or "Irish" pub. We can but hope that if they continue to brew beer that they throw out the recipes currently being used. Whatever happens we wish them the best of luck, they've all worked hard to get where they are today. (Is that enough sycophancy?)
